The Trident is an A5 sized story paper with long, complete text stories in each issue. These include "independent" stories as well as Sexton Blake tales and further, longer adventures of characters created in other papers. It is intended as an unofficial successor to the Sexton Blake Library and Boys' Friend Library, though with shorter stories (those libraries had tales of 60-80,000 words!) and in a slightly different size.
